Art St. Louis Moving to 555 Washington

Deb Peterson of the Post-Dispatch reported last week that Art St. Louis is moving from its current space (with 5,000 sf gallery) at 917 Locust to 555 Washington. Could they possibly be taking space on the long-vacant first floor? In December, it was reported that the Lombardo family was interested in opening a new restaurant at 555 Washington as well.

Art St. Louis is taking one of the 1st floor interior offices, so unfortunately the large vacant street-facing space will remain empty for now.

A restaurant continues build-out on the north side of the building, facing the Drury Inn. Hope they can include something to visually attract visitors from Washington Ave too.

Thanks for the scoop!

I guess if Lombardo's is building out space facing the Drury, that would make sense. Their other two downtown restaurants are in Drury hotels (Union Station and the Fur Exchange), so I guess they have some sort of partnership - a restaurant on the north end of 555 Washington and the Drury Union Market hotel would have a symbiotic relationship. Right now, that hotel seems so isolated, so it will be good to have another restaurant right next to it.
