The opening of the $16 million city-owned parking garage at Tucker and Clark has been pushed back to August 3. City officials had hoped to have the garage open for next week's MLB All-Star Game festivities, but progress was delayed as construction crews discovered that it would need additional support to make the structure earthquake-proof.The 542-space garage will also include 10,000 sf of ground floor retail space. Despite the delays, the project is on budget.

I don't care how much lipstick they put on this thing. It's still a pig. ****ing parking garages.
Which is uglier, this parking garage or the one at 7th and Olive?
Better than a surface lot since it at least has ground-level retail.
I actually don't think this one is all that bad. I'm not a fan of the 7th and Olive garage though.
All you people that are complaining about garages with ground level retail replacing surfaces lots really need to put things into perspective. We have metrolink access downtown, but we need a comprehensive transit system downtown before we could eliminate excess parking. St. Louis is not the king of parking, even cities like New York and Chicago have thousands upon thousands of parking spaces in their downtown cores (despite having world class transit). What do you guys expect in St. Louis? Lets just be happy we are seeing development during this economic downturn.
